i have a web application made by VS2003 when i tried to move it to the production server i could not run it or any programs that were dependent on the .NET framework I have tried to re-install it hoping that it would fix the current problem but it just tells me that it is already installed. I am really frustrated and have been fighting this problem for a few days now. I am new to ASP.NET and started using it by setting up IIS on my Win XP Pro laptop. I also installed Direct X 9.0 and .NET framework 1.1. After the installation and reboot, I cannot create a new ASP.NET web application in Visual studio .NET. From the new project wizzard, as soon as I hit the OK button to create new project in http://localhost, visual studio goes into the lala land and will never return. No error message. I've installed IIS and then I've installed .NET framework 1.1, but all the .asp files on my computer look exactly the same as they looked before the installation. Haven't received an answer to this (possibly very dumb) question from MS Update Support, so I'll try here. After PC crash, I reformatted drive and reinstalled everything, starting with Win2000Pro, then all updates, other programs, saved data, etc. I now keep getting a 'critical update needed for .NET Framework v1.1' msg from MS' auto updater, even though installed programs show I have both v1.1 and v2.0.
